Her artworks combine everyday objects in new and surprising ways, use unusual materials and playfully change their appearance. The interplay of light and colour creates a mesmerising effect and invites the viewer to take a closer look.

The work ‘QUANTUM LAUNDRY 2’ is presented in a circular frame and its appearance is reminiscent of an enlarged lens on a microscope slide. The soft fragments seem to float in the sea and are reminiscent of a shimmering underwater landscape. The monochrome colour tones and the ambiguous shape of the object support the feeling of deep waters.

An apparent balance between the scientific nature of the work’s visual abstraction invites the viewer to engage with the relationship between material, appearance and narrative, and the circular format used conveys a sense of enclosure and preservation, as if the narrative is to be conserved and protected under glass. In this work, which is characterised by its calm and contemplative nature, Svatek seems to explore the interface between biology and art. Observation and memory are combined, as it were, when this gentle and enigmatic window offers a glimpse of unseen or seemingly forgotten worlds. The viewer is invited to look closely at this preserved world that eludes complete understanding.
