Iris Schabert (DE)

Her minimalist and elegant porcelain wall sculptures are reminiscent of halved crystals. The creatively manipulated structures and dimensions entice the viewer to immerse themselves in these fascinating objects.
The elegance of the small sculptures is underlined by the often delicate and monochrome colours. Porcelain as material offers strength and fragility at the same time, similar to crystals found in nature, which are often locked in an object-like form and when broken open reveal a fascinating landscape of shapes. The appealing aesthetics of the objects are meant to be admired and remind the viewer of the wondrous forms and phenomena in nature, which are both beautiful and surprising and mysterious.
