Michèle James (FR)
Michèle James is a French artist now almost exclusively focused on engraving. James’s prints provide her own interpretation of the relation between humans and nature, presenting them in close-ups of layers of soil using different colours.
The combination of written characters, humans, animals and objects provides an opportunity to examine the limits between abstraction and figuration, as well as the relationship between form and symbol.
