Polish artist Piotr Zaczek creates tempera drawings that explore geometry, rhythm, and repetition through carefully constructed circular forms. Working primarily in black and white, he develops compositions that merge abstraction with a strong graphic presence, transforming simple geometric elements into complex, meditative visual systems. His works operate at the intersection of drawing, design, and symbolic notation, recalling both the precision of technical diagrams and the intuitive flow of hand‑drawn lines.

Circles arranged in symmetrical constellations evoke associations with symbols, mandalas, ornamental structures, or architectural plans. At times they resemble celestial charts or ritual objects; at others, fragments of imagined machines or coded visual languages. Repeated linear marks and densely layered textures give the surfaces a meticulous, almost hypnotic quality, revealing the labor‑intensive nature of the process. Each drawing becomes a record of time, gesture, and concentration.
Despite the reduced palette, the works possess a pronounced sense of dynamism and vibration. The tension between precise structure and the subtle irregularities of hand‑drawn lines creates a lively instability: the compositions feel both controlled and organic.

Zaczek’s circles pulse, expand, and contract, generating visual rhythms that guide the viewer’s gaze across the surface. The drawings seem to oscillate between stillness and movement, order and transformation. Zaczek’s practice is rooted in the meditative potential of repetition. Through symmetry, geometric abstraction, and the disciplined use of tempera, he creates images that invite slow, attentive looking. The works do not depict — they unfold. Their clarity and restraint open a contemplative space in which patterns become a form of thought and geometry becomes a vessel for introspection.
By transforming simple forms into complex visual architectures, Piotr Zaczek creates drawings that function as quiet meditations on balance, rhythm, and the human impulse to find structure in the world.
