Exhibition: ROLE PLAY

Ina Sangenstedt (DE) Sculptures and Ole Tersløse (DK) Digital Art

Opening: Wednesday April 1, 7 pm

April 1, 2015 – May 3, 2015

We would like to invite you to the exhibition opening of ROLE PLAY on April 1st, 2015 at 7pm. Featured artists Ina Sangenstedt (DE) sculptures, and Ole Tersløse (DK) digital art, explore and push the boundaries of identity and reality. Together they create a space influenced by a surrealistic symbolic language and fantasy, where our common perceptions are undermined and new ones are created.  Experience a silver toad with a human tooth and the unreal happenings at the harbor in the afternoon. What is real and what is illusion? Welcome to enjoy ROLE PLAY!

Ole Tersløse (DK)
Ole Tersløse is an outstanding digital artist. Although at first glance his works may appear like photo-graphs, Tersløse never uses photo-graphy as a base for his imagery; instead he creates every image from scratch. His powerful works investigate representations of (seemingly) realistic situations. By examining the ambiguity of the situations presented, the spectator is invited to explore and dwell in a parallel universe and possibly get lost some-where in-between space, dream and reality.

Ina Sangenstedt (DE)
In sculptures and drawings, Berlin based artist Ina Sangenstedt explores the relation between animals and humans. Half woman-half animal bodies are presented next to a shiny toad with a human tooth. We study animals to better understand ourselves and the line that defines us and them constantly changes over time. Sangenstedt’s works evoke questions on accepted civilized behavior versus animal instinct. Whether your passion is collecting porcelain cat sculptures or playing with your dog, Sangenstedt’s pieces bring new light on the relationships and historical interdependence between animals and man.Read more about the artist here
