Using diverse printing techniques Víctor Ríos creates complex metaphoric graphics. The animalistic motives overlap on the symbolic patterns in his art, merging to the topics of time, mystery and higher forces.

Víctor Ríos is a recognized graphic artist from Mexico, who works in this field for more than twenty years, and is Head of the Graphic College of the Visual Arts Race FAD / UNAM. 2012 – to date.

The complex metaphoric etchings of Ríos merge to the topics of time, mystery and higher forces in overlapping animalistic motives and symbolic patterns. Using diverse printing techniques, such as aquatint, lithography and etching, the artist experiments with his artworks, in order to find the best technique to express the chosen theme. Rios investigates in his artworks various fundamental topics relating to the existentialism, that encourage the viewer to wonder and reflect.

Represented in an archaic manner, his etchings seem to harbor a secret wisdom that is transmitted to the viewer through the numerology and allegory. Implementing in his prints yellow, black and red colors, Rios uses enlarged shapes of animals as the central points of his artworks, surrounded by ancient and ideologistic symbols.
His latest series of etchings concern the topic of time lapse, higher forces and life. Represented motives in combination with the precise craftsmanship contemplate the audience and invite them to take part in a mysterious journey.
