Shwan Dler Qaradaki (KUR)
Kurdish artist Shwan Dler Qaradaki works with various techniques, including drawing, printing, painting, photography, installation and video. His work deals with identity problems in a multiethnic and multicultural world, but also with their potential and possibilities. Tradition and prejudice are also key points of his artistic work.
His video “Salt Kiss” is a very personal report of 12 years on the way as refugees. Shwan Dler Qaradaki (KUR) lives in Norway today.

To my children
The movie To My Children is based on the artist’s own experience of escaping war. Shwan Dler Qaradaki started working on this mixed media piece after visiting his family which remained in Iraqi Kurdistan. What is left behind and what passed on? This poetic narration touches the very human side of immigration, a perspective that public debate often misses, to this day.
