What is art?
Art is boundless and embraces the diversity of human creativity.
What does the concept of art actually cover? Art is a visual representation; a narrative, an emotion and an invisible bridge between creator and viewer. The definition of art extends beyond technique and materials. It is a journey into the mind, inviting thoughts, attitudes and experiences through the work.
The definition of art
Defining art in a single way is a challenge because it is so diverse. Art can manifest itself in many art forms such as visual art, sculpture, music, dance and literature. It reflects observations from life, society, nature and the mind to create something that reaches out to the viewer.
What is good art?
Good art has an authentic voice, an identity and the ability to reach out and touch the viewer. Art is carried by technical skill, emotional resonance and depth of message, and is subjective and varies from person to person.
Good art enriches our lives by challenging our perspectives, touching our emotions and engaging our minds, moving beyond aesthetics.
Why is art important?
It enriches our senses, inspires our creativity and carries our history through the ages. Art has the ability to influence, mirror and reflect our society.
When is something art? It’s a question that is constantly evolving and changing. The definition of art is largely determined by the individual, changing and challenging with the diversity of experience.

Today, we are introducing you to the artist Frank Paul (DE) from our Mini Maxi Print 2023/2024 exhibition.

Frank Paul is a german sculptor who brings out vivid and ironical symbols by working with paint. He breathes life into his works by applying a particular texture to mundane figures, often articulated around almost ridiculous postures, which challenge anyone who comes to observe them to smile.
A consumerist society nourished by a capitalist scheme is always depicted therein, dialogue with creatures that take possession of social codes. Frank Paul articulates his work between humour and some kind of loneliness materialized by the wenght the individual must carry by himself. But also, subtly embedded well-known brands, which nonetheless depend on a brutality revealing the body.
The artist seems to strip his subjects bare to expose the loneliness hidden behind a vain disguise.

Den finske kunstner Roberto Aarnios farverige skildring af hverdagsscenarier er åbenhjertig og ærlig og portrætterer fjollede samtaler mellem venner, pinlige midnatssnacks og rastløsheden ved at vente på toget. Han henleder opmærksomheden på detaljer, som vi måske ikke bruger så meget tid på at tænke over, og giver publikum mulighed for at overveje vigtigheden af de små ting i livet.

Der er et genemgående tema af refleksion i Natasha Voronchikhinas akryl-selvportrætter, hvor motivet gemmer sig i et badeværelsesspejl, der fordobler hendes ansigtstræk, og stirrer længselsfuldt ind i sin telefon, mens skærmens lys reflekteres tilbage på hendes ansigt. Disse hverdagsritualer, hvor hun tjekker sociale medier og børster tænder, giver et indblik i hendes komplekse følelsesmæssige tilstand, der holdes konsistent og forankret gennem rutine.
