Art and culture is the glue that keeps us all together.
Galleri Heike Arndt DK has been running in Kettinge for more than 30 years and in Berlin for the past 12 years. Heike Arndt has dedicated her time and passion entirely to the arts and runs a wide range of completely non-profit activities.
The staff consists annually of more than 20 international interns from the fields of art history, cultural management, language, video, multimedia design and social media. The interns are supervised daily by Heike Arndt, and in Berlin alone they have done 150,000 hours of voluntary work. With a strong presence in 3 languages, the staff does their absolute best to keep undiscovered art visible online, in exhibitions at the gallery, and at our events.
A strong sense of social responsibility is also taken with the monthly event of Scandinavian Meetingpoint in Berlin. Several events, such as artist talks and symposiums for graphics, are completely free of charge for the public. Recently we also established Artlab, where artists are invited to work for longer periods of time.
We do not receive government support to keep things running. Without a regular income sufficient to cover basic expenses, we continously face heavy costs at both of our galleries.
We are driven by a strong passion for the arts and hope you will support us to support the artists.
How we use your donations
You can direct your donation to one or more of the below-given examples, or you can leave a general donation. We are grateful for each and every contribution, no matter how big or small.
Artlab artist residency
In order to provide the best possible facilities for creative project-makers and professional artists, we are constantly improving and updating our Artlab residency. Your donation allows young artists to have a professional and educative experience, and gives them an opportunity to establish a closer relationship between creative project makers, the art world and the locals.
Art LAB KETTINGE Graphic Symposium
Our Graphics Symposium in Kettinge has been created to provide a space where like-minded passionate graphic artists can meet up and spend typically a week or so working on their artwork in an ideal, peaceful environment with high-quality facilities.
Your donation will be used to keep different graphic techniques alive, updating the necessary equipment, providing materials for the artists working here, and to further develop them through experiments with new tools and equipment.
Open calls
Our open calls are curated with an open mind and with no commercial interest. With this mentality, we want to give both up-and-coming as well as more experienced artists an equal opportunity to be seen by an international audience. We usually curate 6-800 artists for each show in 3 screening for several weeks. We would need support to cover for print material for these shows and to help artists with transportation costs.
General donation
General donations will be directed to the galleries’ project development, travel costs, for interns to shoot videos and for the preparation of exhibitions in both countries. It will not go to cover regular rent or similar running costs but for much needed extra equipment. Much needed are camera/video equipment or design programs for our students to be used as we do not get any price reductions for softwares.
